Hi, I am Simon

I know what it's like to struggle. I know because I have lived it.

I know what it's like to wonder why everyone else seems to move forward with their lives, but you stay in the same place, and you just can't seem to change the behaviours blocking you.

You may have already sought help, and it didn't work. You might feel frustrated and angry or let down by the therapist or embarrassed because you let them down.

If this resonates for you, I want you to know you are in the right place, and there is hope. It's why I created Essential Inquiry – a unique blend of self-inquiry and therapy techniques explicitly designed to help get you unstuck.

My Background.

I have always been curious about how things work, which led me to study applied biology. Then by chance in my early thirties, I came across a community based ten-month training programme in adult mental health counselling. The work I did with adults struggling with mental health shifted my interest from external systems to our internal systems.

A new journey began for me that led me to study with international spiritual teachers such as Adyshanti and Mooji and receive training in transformative psychotherapy models such as IFS. I am also proud and humbled being listed as a resource, Dr Gabor Maté's web page.

Over the last twenty years, I have led dozens of self-inquiry retreats in Canada, USA and Mexico. The hundreds of hours I have spent with individuals as they travel their Internal journey has given  me

a deep understanding of our human experience. This journey from profound ecstatic states of joy and bliss to deep pain, grief and trauma has informed every part of my practice.

I'm a Registered Therapeutic Counselor (RTC) and a member of ACCT. I began my training in IFS through Alder Professional School (led by Derek Scott) and have completed Level 1 and 2 training with the IFS Institute (IFSI). I have also had experience PA'ing on Level-1 training with the IFSI. I also hold Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation with the Project Management Institute.

IFS therapist and PMP may seem like an odd combination of credentials, but the way I see it, we do not have problems; we have projects. My background in Self-Inquiry and IFS helps you understand who you are and why we find ourselves in our current situation, and my PM knowledge helps you move forward.

When you are ready to get started.
I am here to help.
